Apart from Reiatsu, the strength of each character in Bleach is also determined by their intelligence and combat skills. Therefore, there are some figures who are considered dangerous even though their own Reiatsu can be said to be an average division captain.
Who are they? Here's the list!
1. Kisuke Urahara
As a scientist, Urahara is well-known in Soul Society as an unparalleled inventor. His ability to create something can even be said to surpass other scientists like Mayuri.
Not only that, Urahara is famous for his ability to devise tactics and strategies in dealing with enemies. He can easily make enemies fall into the traps he makes without realizing it.
It's no wonder that Yhwach includes Urahara on the war potential list in an unknown variable aspect.
2. Yoruichi Shihōin
Just like Urahara, Yoruichi has one or two things that make him afraid even though his Reiatsu can be said to be average to a captain's standard.
One of them is the speed which is far above average. He was easily able to defeat Byakuya and Sui-Feng in a Shunpo battle. It's no wonder that Yoruichi is nicknamed the Lightning Goddess.
He is also an expert in Hakuda martial arts and is known to have tricked Yammy who incidentally is an Arrancar Espada. Ulquiorra even admits that Hakuda Yoruichi's technique is really dangerous.
It didn't stop there, Yoruichi succeeded in creating the Shunko technique, a combination of Hakuda and Kido which made him enveloped in an aura of lightning.
3. Mayuri Kurotsuchi
If Urahara can be said to be the type of inventor, then Mayuri can be said to be the type of modifier.
Mayuri often conducts experiments on his own body so that it has unique and adaptive characteristics in every battle. In the duel against Szayelaporro and Pernida, this Shinigami survived thanks to a biological modification to his body.
He also succeeded in creating a number of technologies such as a shadowless laboratory to deal with the shadow abilities of Quincy, special drugs that have effects such as controlling zombies belonging to GIselle, poisons for which only Mayuri can make an antidote, and Arrancar special forces.
But what makes him very dangerous is Mayuri's nature, which without hesitation sacrifices someone like when he carried out a secret operation to kill the people of Rokungai to maintain the balance of spirits and sacrifice Nemu against Pernida.
4. Gin Ichimaru
Even though Gin's Reiatsu level wasn't as good as Aizen's, there were a number of things that made him fear the Soul Society at that time.
Gin is renowned for his Zanpakutō's lethal abilities. His Shikai Mode is capable of slicing his enemies at various distances. His Bankai is no less terrible because he is able to melt his target with his poison.
But the greatest thing about Gin is his acting skills. He managed to trick Aizen for years and was only discovered when he tried to kill his former boss.
We can't imagine what will happen to Ichigo and Soul Society if Gin is truly loyal to Aizen.
5. Byakuya Kuchiki
As a captain, Byakuya has special powers and skills that make him recognized by Soul Society. Not only that, he is also known for being strict with the rules.
Even so, his Reiatsu level is practically still the standard of a division captain. According to Ganju, Byakuya's level is practically on par with Zaraki's Reiatsu which is in a sealed state.
The reason why Byakuya is so strong is because he has a relatively deadly Zanpakutō, Senbonzakura. This one sword can be said to be very flexible in attack and defense.
Since his training at the Soul King palace, Byakuya's level of control has risen drastically so that even the Shikai level of his sword is mistaken for a Bankai level.
Byakuya is also proficient in using the Kido technique which is useful in various situations such as tying up enemies or protecting them from enemy attacks.
6. Rukia Kuchiki
At first, Rukia was known more for her knowledge of the spiritual world than her strength as a Shinigami.
But since her training at the Soul King palace, Rukia's strength has increased many times until she manages to defeat As Nodt, who nearly killed Byakuya.
With Sode no Shirayuki, Rukia is able to control her body temperature to below zero degrees to counter the influence of As Nodt's The Fear and freeze enemies with her slashes.
His bankai, Hakka no Togame is also very deadly because it is able to freeze enemies down to the cellular level of the body in one strike.
Unfortunately, Rukia's mobility becomes very limited while in that mode. One wrong move, his body could be destroyed too.
Because of that, Byakuya says that Rukia's Bankai is great but troublesome in terms of use.
7. Renji Abarai
At first, Renji could be said to be a fighter whose level was below the captains even though he had mastered Bankai.
The reason is simple, Renji has only been half recognized by his own sword so his strength is still far from his highest level. His new potential increases drastically thanks to training from Ichibe.
It was only after mastering Zabimaru's true power that Renji's level rose to the level of the captains. He was able to beat Mask De Masculine who had slaughtered Kensei and Rose without much effort.
