The majority of the exceptional mages available through Fairy Tail are connected to the Fairy Tail guild. Fans are still unaware of the unrestrained power that permeates the entire Ishgar continent, despite the fact that numerous adept wizards have been revealed throughout the series whose abilities far exceed those of conventional magic. The term "Wizard Saint" refers to those with such unfathomable power, highlighting their status and power that surpasses that of even the most powerful mages.
The Wizard Saints are ranked from one to ten based on their power and magic abilities, with one being the strongest and ten being the weakest of them, even though the collective name places these wizards on a level all their own. The four strongest Wizard Saints, however, are not even regarded as being human and are instead known as the "Four Gods of Ishgar," so the disparity in their strengths is unfathomable. Even though we still don't know the identities of all ten Wizard Saints, the series has taught us a lot about these all-knowing wizards.
The Wizard Saints are well-known across the Ishgar continent for their incredible physical strength and magical skill. The strength these wizards possess is comparable to the strength required to wipe out entire nations, so achieving such a revered title is no easy feat. According to legend, if two Wizard Saints engaged in a direct confrontation, the result would be a cataclysm. This is why Ultear broke up the fight between Jura Neekis and Jellal Fernandes during the Grand Magic Games.
The Chairman of the Magic Council bestows the title of Wizard Saint on a mage based on the magic power that mage possesses. Wizard Saints can be S-class wizards and Guild Masters of their guilds, like Jura and Makarov, or they can be members of the Magic Council like Draculos Hyberion. The other Wizard Saints are roughly on par with the Four Gods of Ishgar in terms of strength, but even among them, there is a noticeable difference as evidenced by Makarov's relatively straightforward victory over Jose Porla, another Wizard Saint.
The Four Gods of Ishgar
These four magicians are treated unfairly by sharing the same name as the other members of the Wizard Saints because of their incredible power. As a result, the four most powerful Saints are unofficially known as the Four Gods of Ishgar, reflecting their true status in the magical community. But very little is known about these four mages, and they only make sporadic appearances in Fairy Tail.
Warrod Sequen, the fourth Wizard Saint and one of Fairy Tail's original members, is the weakest of the Four Gods of Ishgar. He has green magic, which enables him to create and manipulate nature, though it has never been made clear what his true power is. Another of the Four Gods, Wolfheim is the third-strongest Wizard Saint and a master of beast transformation magic.
The head of the Magic Council and the second-strongest Wizard Saint is Draculos Hyberion. With just a flick of his finger in their general direction, his vampire magic can render his adversaries immobile, earning him the prestigious title of a Wizard Saint. God Serena, the former top Wizard Saint who later joined the Alvarez Empire, is the strongest of the Four Gods of Ishgar. He unquestionably developed into the most powerful wizard in all of Ishgar, possessing a total of eight different types of Dragon Slayer Magic.
Jose Porla
Jose Porla is a former Wizard Saint, but it's unclear where exactly he stands in the group. Jose had enormous power because he was the Guild Master of Phantom Lord, and his power was almost on par with Makarov's. He was later defeated by Makarov's Fairy Law spell, which rendered him totally helpless and caused his status as a Wizard Saint to be revoked.
Although he was able to assemble a guild that could compete with Fairy Tail, his strength is still undeniable. Because of the corruption in his heart, he lost to Makarov despite having superior skills and abilities. However, his humiliating loss justifies his status as the weakest of the Wizard Saints.
Jura Neekis
Jura is the fifth Wizard Saint, a position he attained after putting in a lot of effort in his training. The series has repeatedly shown the strength of Lamia Scale guild S-class wizard Jura, most notably when he battled the Oración Seis. Makarov has asserted that his power can rival that of Gildarts, one of Fairy Tail's S-class mages, while Jura believes that he is relatively weak in comparison to the other Wizard Saints.
Although Jura is undoubtedly capable of incredible feats thanks to his abilities, the series has repeatedly treated him unfairly. Jura played a minor part in the victory over the dark guild in the alliance against Oracion Seis. Due to Nirvana's abilities, Hoteyes, his opponent, was compelled to change for the better, eliminating Jura's opportunity to demonstrate his abilities. The artificial dragon slayer Laxus Drayer, whose lightning should have been tamed by Jura's Earth Magic, defeated Jura in the Grand Magic Games. Overall, Fairy Tail did not accurately depict Jura's potential.
Makarov Drayer
It is not surprising that one of the most powerful mages on the continent is also the Guild Master of Fiore's strongest guild. Makarov's magic skills are well known, as the series has shown on numerous occasions when he has helped his guild win a battle. The only Wizard Saint to face off against another Saint, Makarov did so in order to demonstrate his superior strength.
Makarov was relegated to a supporting role for the majority of the series, but this was largely done so that the guild as a whole could shine. The few occasions, though, where Makarov truly demonstrates his potential are sure to be memorable. Makarov's strength hasn't diminished with age, and his status as a Wizard Saint is a testament to his extraordinary abilities.
Jellal Fernandes
Jellal once held the distinction of being one of the Ten Wizard Saints, albeit going by the name Siegrain, before betraying the Magic Council. Jellal is capable of raining stars down on his adversaries, making his Heavenly Body Magic one of the strongest in the series. Jellal's unfathomable power has occasionally been seen throughout the series because he plays a significant role in several of Fairy Tail's story arcs, illustrating both his immense power and the series' importance.
Jellal's strength as a Wizard Saint is still in doubt considering Natsu's partial control over him during the Tower of Heaven arc. He was only about to reveal his true abilities during his battle with Jura at the Grand Magic Games, even though he was using the guise of Mystogan. Ultear and Meredy interfered and ruined the fight before Jellal could reveal his Heavenly Body Magic, preventing the audience from ever seeing the full scope of Jellal's true power.
